Batch 1 development sites

The first opportunities

These first nine sites mark the opening phase of MAHP’s long-term delivery programme, offering an early opportunity to contribute to the delivery of approximately 340 new homes across Tower Hamlets. Formal procurement is expected to begin in August 2026, with delivery routes reflecting the scale and requirements of each site.

  • Interest is welcomed from organisations of all sizes, including contractors, developers and SMEs.

  • SMEs interested in participating should complete the registration form to share relevant information about their capabilities. Registration will not form part of the evaluation process or provide any advantage during procurement.

  • Further sites will be released over the following six to nine months, including smaller and medium-sized schemes and nine larger strategic opportunities.

  • All contracts will be awarded through open and competitive procurement,

Bethnal Green

A mix of 44 new affordale and private homes with a new Idea Store and community space

Strout's Place

Five new family-sized homes for social rent, with private amenity space, play space and new landscaping.

Tomlinson Close

New family homes across two sites, with enhanced landscaping, reconfigured allotments and improved public spaces.

Southern Grove

The redevelopment of a 0.59-hectare site incorporating the historic Southern Grove Lodge, with opportunities for new homes, landscaping and wider site improvements.

Tent Street

The regeneration of an underused 0.4-hectare site, retaining its distinctive railway viaduct alongside new development and improved community facilities.

Chisenhale Road

The sensitive redevelopment of a canal-side heritage site to deliver new homes, reprovide Chisenhale Dance Studio and strengthen connections with the Hertford Union Canal.

Back Church Lane

The redevelopment of a brownfield site to deliver 19 new homes for social rent, including an accessible family home, with amenity space, play space and landscaping.

Gill Street

New homes within a six-storey building, together with enhanced amenity and play space, cycle storage and landscaping.
