A phased programme of delivery

The Mayor's Accelerated Housing Programme (MAHP) will be delivered in phases over the next five years and beyond, with sites progressing through design, planning and procurement in coordinated batches. The first nine schemes are already well advanced, with planning submissions taking place during 2026 and procurement expected to begin from August. Further batches will follow over the next six to nine months, creating a continuing pipeline of opportunities as sites move from feasibility and concept design into planning and delivery.

With an estimated gross development value of £2 billion and construction value of £1.76 billion, MAHP represents a significant long-term investment in the future of Tower Hamlets and a substantial pipeline of opportunities for the development and construction sector.

This programme represents a transformative step forward for Tower Hamlets, ensuring that its strategic vision is realised through efficient delivery, innovative design and robust stakeholder engagement.
