Back Church Lane

Back Church Lane is a constrained brownfield site in Whitechapel, currently occupied by a vacant three-storey building and car parking. The proposed redevelopment will provide a six-storey building containing 19 homes, all for social rent, including one three-bedroom wheelchair-accessible home. The scheme will also incorporate amenity and play space, cycle storage and landscaping. Located approximately 480 metres from Aldgate East station, the site has excellent public transport accessibility and sits within a mixed residential, commercial and community setting. It is not within a conservation area and contains no listed buildings, although heritage assets are located nearby, and it lies within the Old Tower Hamlets Archaeological Priority Area.
