Chisenhale Road

Chisenhale Road is a canal-side site in Bow West, comprising part of a former brewery currently leased to Chisenhale Art Gallery. The approximately 480 sq m, three-storey industrial building accommodates Chisenhale Dance Studio on its upper floor, while the remaining space is vacant and partially dilapidated. The site also includes approximately 525 sq m of external space fronting the Hertford Union Canal. Proposals will respond to the site’s cultural and industrial heritage, reprovide the dance studio and explore opportunities to improve the canal frontage. The site lies within the Driffield Road Conservation Area, and the existing building is considered a non-designated heritage asset.
